In N Out and Trauma Writing Group
This offering are group poems written by the In N Out and Trauma Writing Group in Spring 2026
This semester we wrote poems in the theme of the body—each week we wrote about a different body part.
These are the uniquely inspired poems for this Spring

Poem 9 – The Soul
The following poem is about the soul, something that is ethereal and something that poets write about all the time. The soul is where our godliness lives, where the wisdom that is not written in books resides. We cleanse our soul with each kind word, kind deed and kind invention. Our souls bring a heavenly light into our bodies on a daily basis.
Our souls are concealed by flesh.
Need to start all fresh.
Find a path through hardships.
Keep true to yourself along the way.
Hold onto your soul even when the ground shakes.
And we will hold onto each other forever.
